SPRINGBOARD
ANNOUNCES PUBLICATION OF COMPREHENSIVE
"FIELD GUIDE TO CREDIT COUNSELING
AGENCIES"
Riverside, CA - January 29, 2004
The proliferation of credit counseling
agencies in America has prompted
the creation, on CD Rom, of the
first-ever field guide on the credit
counseling industry in the United
States, by Springboard Nonprofit
Consumer Credit Management.
"The Field Guide to Credit
Counseling" is a must-have
reference guide for all federal
and state regulators, creditors
and other counseling agencies. Consumers,
regulators, the media, and other
stakeholders need to be able to
research various organizations and
businesses and in the credit and
debt counseling industry. “With
the proliferation of counseling
agencies in this country over the
past several years, regulators,
creditors, consumers and others
need to be able to research the
various players in our industry,”
said Dianne Wilkman, Springboard
President and the Guide’s
editor. "Further, the media
and regulator attention on our industry
makes this Guide a timely reference
resource."
The "Credit Counseling Field
Guide" is a compilation of
basic data of over 400 credit counseling
agencies operating in the United
States. The data includes: names,
addresses, accreditations, and HUD
certification status. Most importantly,
the "Credit Counseling Field
Guide" also includes the employer
identification numbers for agencies,
so their IRS-990 tax forms may be
easily accessed through www.guidestar.org
The "Credit Counseling Field
Guide" is available as an
Excel spreadsheet on a read-only
CD Rom @ $29.95. An order form
is availabler by calling 800-947-3752,
ext. 729 (Cyndi Wright). Credit
